Logistics: Maintenance Requests

On-time or Recurring Maintenance Contracts

Maintenance regulatory requirements are:

1. Cost and capability comparison for in-house vs contractor.
Solution: If you send me a copy of the proposed contract when you receive it, I can start my stuff while you do the purchase request paperwork. That way, when the PR gets to me I am ready to initial and pass it on.

2. The contract must state the following:

  a. Frequency, in months between visits (every 3 months, every 6 months, etc.)
b. Contractor will update the DD Form 2163 (the calibration sticker on the equipment) when they complete the calibration.
c. After each visit, the contractor will provide Maintenance a list of:
(1) the test equipment used, listing nomenclature, manufacturer, model, and date test equipment was calibrated
(2) Services or actions performed
(3) Status of the equipment (functional, broken, needs overhaul, etc.)

Providing this information up front will speed up the approval process.
